Chubb (ticker: CB), which provides property and casualty coverage to individual and corporate customers around the world, is one of the best capitalized names in the industry.

The company's shares rose 17% over the last year, a period in which the iShares Dow Jones U.S. Insurance exchange-traded fund (IAK) fell roughly 8% and the Financial Select Sector SPDR (XLF) was down about 16%.
